Where the Wild Light Falls captures the Australian bush not as it is, but as it feels- alive with colour, movement and fleeting light.
Two cockatoos sweep between the trees, caught in a landscape of deep earth, brilliant pink and soft, luminous sky. Delicate white linework winds through the heavier painted layers, blurring the boundary between what is seen and what is remembered.
There is a wildness to the light here- unpredictable and impossible to hold onto. The painting celebrates those brief moments in nature when the ordinary suddenly becomes extraordinary, and you find yourself standing still, simply watching where the wild light falls.
