What the Bush Remembers explores the landscape as a place of memory, imagination and belonging. Layers of earthy ochres, warm rusts and soft light evoke the vastness of the Australian bush, while delicate white linework suggests the traces of trees rather than their fixed forms. At the centre of the composition, a child running with a paper aeroplane becomes a quiet symbol of curiosity, freedom and connection to place. It is watched closely by the Tawny Frogmouth Owl hidden in the bush. Balancing abstraction and representation, the work reflects on the stories held within the landscape and the enduring relationship between memory, nature and the human experience.
