Perched quietly amongst the trees, a solitary tawny frogmouth watches over the landscape as the last light spills across it in layers of blush, crimson and warm earth. Almost hidden within the vastness, he is a silent observer- waiting as one world settles and another begins to wake.
The painting is about stillness, solitude and the quiet rituals of nature; that beautiful in-between moment when the day isn't quite over, the night hasn't quite begun, and the watcher of the last light remains.
