Bathed in the soft glow of first light, Flight at Dawn captures a fleeting moment of movement and possibility within the Australian bush. A small flock of cockatoos glides through a landscape of luminous pinks, warm earth tones and delicate white tracings of gum trees, creating a scene that exists somewhere between memory and imagination.
The vertical rhythm of the forest forms a quiet sanctuary, while the birds introduce a sense of freedom, energy and connection. Blending abstract expression with subtle realism, the work invites viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty of new beginnings, the promise held within each day, and the enduring presence of nature within our lives.
Five birds are in the painting.
